This past weekend I had a few amazing things happen. Through a Dutch friend I was able to connect in person with handbag designer, Augusta Wind. Check out her amazing leather work! We had a fantastic day together and I got some great feedback on the industry and the prototype bags I have been working on.   We managed to hit 3 museums and a rooftop to round out the day! 

On Sunday I visited the Dumbo Flea market and continued my weekend of inspiration, this time by amazing furniture and jewelry designers.  Because I have a vested interest in sustainable work I approached Joe from Recycled Brooklyn, a furniture company using sustainable wood and leather. Check out the chair in the photo below.  He was supremely generous with advice and knowledge.  After a great conversation with him about marketing and product development I visited with jewelry designers Nico and Thea from Thea Grant.  Again, such a inspirational and talented team!  I couldn't resist a custom brass bracelet with my favorite Frank Lloyd Wright quote (see the photo below) I left the flea feeling even more passionate about the direction I am heading with my own ideas about working with sustainable materials.
